Filter Interface Control Language
( FICL )

FICL was developed to provide a platform and operating system independent control method for the extensive range of Kemo electronic filters.
The system is based on the IEE 488.2 protocol and uses simple ASCII text commands. Instruments can be interrogated to confirm their settings, very important for 'traceability' of measurements. Similar commands are used across the Kemo filter range.

Typical commands are:-

freq 1,250

This sets frequency of channel 1 to 250 Hz

freq? 1

This checks the frequency of channel 1.

gain 25,20

This sets gain of channel 25 to +20 dB

gain? 25

This checks the gain in dB of channel 25.

FICL is very easy to use and control, we use it every day in our technical centre to check and test filters. Direct commands are easy to send using standard 'HyperTerminal' can be easily set to operate FICL.
