FICL was developed to provide a platform and operating
system independent control method for the extensive range of Kemo electronic
filters. The use of Ethernet hardware and simple ASCII text commands make FICL II easy to interface into complex measurement systems. FICL II can address 64 channel addresses, however more than one channel can share a FICL II channel address. Therefore if a group of channels are always going to be used with the same settings, they can be set to the same channel address, and one single command will set all these channels simultaneously. FICL II gives direct control of the filter system settings, it does not interpret, it does what you command it to do. Typical commands are:- FREQ,1,250 This sets frequency of channel 1 to frequency step 250 IGNA,5,2 This sets input gain section A of channel 5 to gain value 2 ICPL,6,dc This sets the input coupling of channel 6 to DC coupling. RDBK,1 CM255G at address 1 IGNA,1 IGNB,1 ICPL,AC IMOD,SE IEPE,0 FREQ,27 CM255G ready The above listing shows the status of channel 1 of a CardMaster 255G system. All settings are listed with their current values. RDBK,a would list the current status of all channels. The RDBK command also lists all available commands for a system. FICL II is very easy to use and control, we use it every day in our technical centre to check and test filters. Direct commands are easy to send using standard 'HyperTerminal' can be easily set to operate FICL.
