The Kemo RackMaster Series of filter systems, are compact
filter amplifiers, in a range of rugged cases suitable for portable or
laboratory filter/amplification tasks. The programmable systems are controlled by an
RS232 text based interface, using the Kemo FICL
control language. Windows drivers are available. RackMaster systems have
controllable inputs, AC / DC coupling and filter bypass set by computer, and
single ended / differential / IEPE inputs set by front panel switches.
Input gain is computer controlled between -6 dB (x0.25) to +58 dB (x800), to
reduce noise unused channels can be grounded. Filter frequencies are
available from 0.2 Hz, to 255 000Hz in a range of units, each with 255 filter steps. RackMasters use the Kemo 1600
filter modules.
RackMasters can also be made in fixed or manually set versions. Some are used for applications where the filter is 'hard set' in the
laboratory and then taken on site pre-set ready to use. Others have been made for use in a production type environment, where the filter is set and can only be changed by authorised people.
9 - 30 V DC, with AC 'power brick'

Programmable Frequency and Gain
The RackMaster uses Kemo's 1600 Series Filter
Modules, offering exceptional analogue performance in a small volume. Each
1600 filter module can be programmed over a 255:1 range,1792:1 for the
1600W
filter modules. Cut-off frequencies from 0.2 Hz to 255 kHz are available as
standard, with others available to special order. Please contact us with
your requirements.
The filter modules plug into the RackMaster, so should you wish to change
filter response or frequency in the future this is possible.
The RackMaster has 3 programmable gain ranges.

Control
RackMasters are controlled by RS232
interface, using the Kemo FICL text based control language, or a
supplied Windows driver. FICL is a text based command set, very easy
to understand and program, the filter settings can be controlled by
any device with an RS232 interface. Some of our customers use PDA's
to control their filters.
Programming is also very easy using the FICL commands. e.g.:
FREQ 1,500
Sets filter channel 1 to 500 Hz.
The Kemo Windows driver for the RackMasters has features to aid the traceability of the measurement
settings.
Once a set of commands are set to the RackMaster, the driver then interrogates
each channel of the RackMaster, and saves the results as a text file. This gives
a record of the actual filter settings, these files can be stored and used
as part of a measurement control system.
A typical screen is shown.
A table is created and then sent to the RackMaster, channels 2 and 3 have data
to send, channels 5 and 6 have been sent data, which the driver corrected to
suit the available filter settings, all other channels are set.
