The Kemo VBF35 is a multichannel filter/amplifier system which offers a high resolution for both gain and cutoff frequency. It is ideally suited to high performance data capture systems where accurate and repeatable signal conditioning is needed prior to conversion and/or storage.
Frequency Range
The VBF35 covers the range of 0.1Hz to 102.3kHz with four 1023:1 ranges. This span supports most applications while still allowing close control over
cut-off frequency.
Gain Range
The gain of -11dB to 70dB split between pre- and post-filter sections is sufficient to bring most signals to sensible levels. Fine control over gain is afforded by the VBF35's 1 dB increments; an input overload monitor is visible through the front panel.

Filter Response Shapes
Three filter shapes can be fitted as standard to the VBF35 to cover a range of applications. These all have a flat response in the passband. The three responses are Option 35 (-85dB @ 2Fc), Option 41 (-82dB @ 3Fc linear phase) and Option 49 (-77dB @ 1.5Fc, equivalent to 132dB/octave). All these responses can be switched from lowpass to highpass. There is also a switchable 'pulse response' mode which virtually eliminates overshoot, allowing the VBF35 to be used in both frequency domain and time domain applications.
Control Capabilities
The VBF35 offers complete manual control and display of all parameters through a large, easy-to-read front panel display. It provides non-volatile storage of all the settings of up to
128 channels. It also supports either an RS232 or a GPIB remote interface.
The 35B frame offers the storage and interface capability of the 35A but without the display and manual control. This is useful for environments where manual control is not desirable, but where it is inconvenient to reprogram the entire system following a power disturbance.
